Francis the Second, Emperor of Austria, and his brother Leopold, Grand Duke of Tuscany, were the first worthy guests attracted to the lake also by the fame of a certain herbalist. On 17th June 1785, they came to Pescallum to know more about what pharmacology had already spread in their country. While listening carefully under the tender vine leaves to the learned explanations of Mr Nicola Maranesi, the wise chemist, a violent storm broke and lasted for so long that the Emperor and his brother had to accept the unexpected and frugal hospitality they were offered. 	I primi clienti di riguardo furono Francesco II, imperatore di Austria, e suo fratello Leopoldo, Granduca di Toscana, attirati sul lago anche dalla fama di certo erborista. Il 17 giugno di quel 1785 vennero, con poco seguito, in visita in località Pescallum per conoscere quanto le fama farmacologica aveva già diffuso fin nella reggia viennese. Durante la vista mentre sotto le tenere foglioline della vite, ascoltavano attenti le dotte spiegazioni del saggio farmacista, Nicola Maranesi, scoppiò un furioso temporale che si protrasse così a lungo da costringere i sovrani ad accettare la frettolosa e frugale ospitalità che fu loro offerta....continua
